Ali oče, majko, vijest ta zlata vrijedi, nije ovo neka fantazija pusta.

Kaže stara banka: tko marljivo štedi, hranit će i svoja i medina usta.

OSAMLJENI ZIR
zir1.jpgZir is about 850 m high ,its highest riff is about 1 km long and oriented almost in east - west direction.
On little crossroad near place Kalinci, towards northeast, there is a tight soil road, about 6 km long, which is used to cross Lika's railway track i new highway track. Plain countryside opens huge horizon on big part of Ličko polje, a plain where almost everywhere are communities of plants adapted to acid ground. Those are Lika's fells guided by (Croatian names) vrijes /Calluna vulgaris/, žutilovka /Genista sp./ i paprat bujad /Pteridium aquilinum/ and some others plant species adapted to life on such ground.
Red - brown color of semidry overground parts of Pteridium aquilinum, and yellow color of Genista sp. are dominate on most of the area, and smaller forests and lonely birch trees are almost the only green parts in this location. So this enviroment definetly doesn't offer monotone picture.

The chapel of the Holy Cross of Batthyany Castle - in which a wondrous event took place in 1411: the appearance of the Precious Blood of Christ, on which Pope Leon X issued a buli in 1513, proclaiming Ludbreg to be a holy place.

The chapel also houses a permanent exhibition of archives (the book of miracles, the papal bull, the covenant of the Croatian Parliament) and a permanent exhibition of sacral art (church vestments and books, liturgical vessels, paintings and sculptures)

The Sanctuary of the Precious Blood of Christ, including the Covenant Chapel of the Croatian Parliament, whose construction fulfilled the ancient pledge made in 1739. The chapel, along with the Stations of the Cross, constitute a unique standing exhibit in the open of mosaics made of murano glass.

The parish church of the Holy Trinity - the oldest sacral building in the town, first mentioned in 1334, and enriched with frescos created by Mirko Rački. From the 18 th century, the church has protected the Relic of the Precious Blood of Christ. The vile containing the Precious Blood of Christ is held in the monstrance made in 1721 by the
Augsburg goldsmiths' school, which was a gift presented by Countess Eleonora Batthyany-Strattman.
The Ludbreg restoration centre, located in Batthyany Castle, was opened in 1994 and is an international restoration workshop. You can also view an exhibition of restored altars from the area ravaged in the Homeland War.

The Centre of the World - according to ancient legend, it was in Ludbreg that the circles of the Earth were thought up and drawn. All the larger European metropolises are found on the circumferences of the circles, and it is in Ludbreg that the four elements - earth, water, fire and air - meet. As an added 'bonus ' , the people of Ludbreg, being excellent grape-growers, offer another feature - the sparkling wine of Ludbreg...
